Non-cyan half-gloss electric silver plating Dine Silver AG-PL30

Non-cyan half-gloss electric silver plating

Cyanide silver plating solution has been used for many years due to its usefulness, despite having many issues related to the working environment and wastewater treatment. Dain Silver AG-PL30 is a non-cyanide type of silver plating solution that our company successfully developed and industrialized for the first time in the world. Despite being a plating solution that contains no cyanide at all (not low-cyanide, but non-cyanide), it has performance equivalent to that of cyanide baths. Furthermore, it also surpasses cyanide baths in terms of stability during long-term use and the ability to plate over a wide pH range. As a result of these recognized characteristics, AG-PL30 is used in various applications. Additionally, its purely technical aspects have been highly regarded at academic conferences, and it received the Surface Technology Association Technical Award for the fiscal year 1992 (in collaboration with Osaka Prefecture University).

Non-electrolytic, reducing type cyanide-free silver plating solution Dine Silver RD

It is a non-cyanide, reducing type of electroless silver plating bath. In combination with catalyst addition, silver plating is deposited on non-conductors such as resin and glass.

Dain Silver RD2 is a non-cyanide, self-catalyzing electroless silver plating solution. With a suitable pretreatment process for the target material and in combination with palladium catalyst application, it is possible to form a silver plating film on non-conductors such as resin and glass. *For more details, please contact us.

"Safe and Secure" Non-Cyanide Silver Plating Solution "Dine Silver" 2-2

Progress in the Development of Non-Cyan Silver Plating Solution 2

Challenging the impossible: Non-cyanide silver plating solution! Successfully developed and commercialized for the first time in the world by Daiwa Chemical Research Institute. As the plating industry urgently seeks to develop plating baths that do not use cyanide compounds, non-cyanide plating solutions for zinc and copper were relatively quickly developed. However, silver plating was said to be impossible to achieve without cyanide, even within the industry. Daiwa Chemical Research Institute took on this difficult challenge and succeeded in 1989 in developing the world's first non-cyanide silver plating solution, "Dine Silver AG-PL30," which does not use any cyanide compounds, and brought it to practical use. For over 20 years after its development, the institute considered it its mission to eliminate the risk of toxic substance leakage during disasters from the plating industry and diligently continued research. As a result, they developed the "Dine Silver GPE Process," which allows for high-speed, high-current plating and has excellent coating ductility, establishing a system that can replace all types of cyanide silver plating baths. The term "Dine Silver GPE" stands for "Gentle to People and Environment," embodying the philosophy of considering the workability and safety of operators involved in plating while being environmentally friendly (free from RoHS-regulated substances).

"Safe and Secure" Non-Cyanide Silver Plating Solution "Dine Silver" 2-1

Progress in the Development of Non-Cyanide Silver Plating Solution 1

■Safe and Secure Silver Plating Currently, the mainstream silver plating used in industrial applications is cyanide plating baths, which were invented in 1838 by G.R. Elkington in the UK. Since then, cyanide compounds have been used for about 180 years and are still widely utilized today. This is because cyanide forms very stable complexes with many metals and can create dense and uniform coatings, making it not only used for silver plating but also for zinc plating, copper plating, and gold plating for a long time. However, the strong toxicity of cyanide poses many issues regarding occupational safety and wastewater treatment, leading to the early development of "non-cyanide plating solutions" in the plating industry. *For more details, please refer to the related links below.*

[Safe and Secure] Non-Cyanide Silver Plating Solution "Dine Silver" 3-2

Features of "Dine Silver" that are friendly to people and the Earth 2

Using non-cyanide silver plating solutions that exceed cyanide without using cyanide The non-cyanide silver plating solution has been developed with the perspective of being equivalent to cyanide baths, but now it adds performance not found in cyanide baths, improving economic efficiency and convenience. ● It has good long-term stability, and there is no need to renew the bath due to the accumulation of carbonates seen in cyanide baths. ● For copper-based materials, good adhesion can be achieved even without a strike silver plating. ● It can be operated over a wide pH range (3 to 10). Plating is possible on materials coated with resist films that are susceptible to alkalis. ● Various plating methods such as rack plating, barrel plating, and continuous plating can be applied. ● A uniform white matte or semi-gloss silver plating can be obtained. ● Properties such as solderability, contact electrical resistance, and hardness are equivalent to those of cyanide baths. *Continued from "Basic Information"*

DAIN COPPER PSR-SZ

Copper plating process for zinc die casting using no cyanide strike.

"DAIN COPPER PSR-SZ" is the industry's first cyanide-free copper plating solution that uses monovalent copper ions. Due to the inclusion of a special complexing agent, there is no substitution with the substrate at all, and the electrodeposited film shows excellent adhesion. It has made it possible to perform cyanide-free copper plating on zinc die-cast materials, which has been difficult until now.

Non-cyanide substitution type electroless silver plating solution Dine Silver EL-3S

Non-cyanide substitution type electroless silver plating solution

Traditionally, cyanide complex-based plating solutions have been used for replacement-type electroless plating of silver (Ag), but there have been many issues regarding the working environment and wastewater treatment costs. The Dain Silver EL-3S process is a replacement-type electroless Ag plating solution that contains no cyanide at all and has performance equivalent to that of cyanide baths. It also has a long liquid life and can be applied not only to copper materials but also to electroless Ni-P plated materials. It can be used as an alternative plating for electroless Ni-P/electroless Au plating, which is a coating for soldering printed circuit boards, and by directly plating Ag onto copper circuits using the EL-3S process, it can reduce plating costs. Furthermore, it demonstrates superior reliability in solderability compared to heat-resistant preflux.
